Post Properties Chooses TelCon Associates as Its Telecom Auditing Partner
October 25th, 2010 – Post Properties, L.P. of Atlanta, GA has chosen TelCon Associates to conduct a thorough telecommunications audit on all of its 60 upscale apartment communities. The audit procedure will include all local, long-distance, and private line (i.e. alarm and elevators) services at Post communities.
“We have extensive experience auditing telecom services of multi-location companies,” says Elizabeth Supica, Senior VP of TelCon Associates. “Many of our current clients are in the REIT industry, so Post is a perfect fit us, ” says Supica.
A telecommunications audit can be an excellent method for reducing unnecessary telecom spending at leasing and corporate offices. The audit itself can be time-consuming and very tedious for IT personnel to handle. Many companies are now turning to professional auditing and bill management firms to help reign in telecom spending and keep it under control. The recent downturn in residential and commercial real estate has prompted many REITs to look for all ways possible to cut expenses.
“Judging from our past audits for REITs similar to Post, we expect to deliver a considerable amount of telecom savings to Post Properties, both now and in the future,” Supica says.

TelCon Associates Wins Outstanding Multifamily Partner Award for 2010
Voted on by multifamily owners, developers, and managers, the Multifamily Partner Award recognizes one company each year who has exhibited a proven track record for adding value to multifamily owners and their apartment community residents.
May 04, 2010 – TelCon Associates, Inc., a leader in telecom auditing, bill management, telemanagement, and technical support services, has been recognized as the Outstanding Multifamily Partner Award recipient for 2010. Voted on by multifamily owners, developers, and managers, the Multifamily Partner Award recognizes one vendor each year who not only understands the unique attributes of the industry, but also has a proven track record and documented evidence for adding value to multifamily owners and their apartment community residents.
Karen Thatcher, TelCon Associates President and CEO, recently accepted the award at the Broadband Properties Annual Summit in Dallas, TX.
“We are honored to have been named the recipient of this award for 2010, and the fact that our current REIT and property management clients nominated us for the award makes it even more special”, says Thatcher.
The multifamily industry poses real problems and challenges for keeping telecommunications services running smoothly and controlling ongoing expenses. More often than not, apartment community staff lacks the time and expertise to handle telecommunications problems as they arise. Thatcher adds, “We consider our role as a vital extension to our clients’ IT departments, essentially freeing up community leasing staff from dealing with tedious and time-consuming telecommunications and internet issues.”
2010 marks the second year of the annual award, the first being presented in 2009 to Verizon.
